How Does Free On Board Work?

Once you've found the right used vehicle for you, we'll finish the car deal as normal. We will then discuss with you how you'd like to receive your vehicle. Some of our customers prefer to pick it up themselves, with some of our long-distance customers flying in and driving home. Others would prefer to have us handle the shipping. We'll arrange the transportation free of charge and will provide you with the estimated price for shipping your vehicle to you.

How Do We Arrange Transport?

We've been transporting and shipping cars for many years, with thousands of cars delivered all over the country. We always use a licensed, bonded, and insured transporter from Central Dispatch or previous transport companies that we have used in the past and trust. We understand that transporting to a customer's house is completely different than dropping cars off at an auto auction, and we know how to work with our customer's individual schedules to ensure a smooth transaction from start to finish.

How Much Will Transportation Be?

The transportation cost varies in multiple ways. Not only does the final price depend on the number of miles traveled, but it also depends on the type of vehicle, region, type of transport, etc. Here are a few things considered when creating the overall price point.

• Miles and Region - The transportation price depends on how many miles and what type of region you reside in. For example, a rural ranch in Texas may cost more than a house in Dallas, even if the ranch is closer in mileage.
• Open or Enclosed Transport - Depending on the type of vehicle, you may prefer to have it transported in an enclosed trailer instead of an open one. Typically, our default is open transport, as it's less expensive, but we can make changes if the customer prefers.

The bottom line is: every transport case is different. We will provide the customer with a hard quote only after we have communicated with the transport company.

How Long Does It Take For A Car To Be Transported?

The transportation time also varies, depending on where you need the car delivered and what type of transportation you requested. It typically takes about one business week to arrange transport and then one business week to have it delivered to the customer. The closer you are to our Sioux Falls, SD dealership, the shorter this time will be. We don't guarantee any delivery dates or pickup dates. We prioritize a secure delivery over a quick delivery.

When Is The Vehicle Technically Delivered?

We sell all of our vehicles FOB Origin Dealer. This means that, once we hand the keys to the transporter, that vehicle is delivered and is no longer in our care. If one of our Frankman Motor Company's agents is delivering the vehicle, which we may do if it's within 50 miles or so from our dealership, the vehicle isn't delivered until the customer has the keys.
